Mission, Vision and History

Mission

To promote professional excellence and career advancement for transportation logisticians.

Vision

To be the most recognized and respected professional development organization in the supply chain and logistics field.

History

In 1958, the founders of the CITT (Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation) had a shared vision. To officially recognize the important role logistics plays in organizational success.

They also knew that it takes a highly motivated and skilled workforce to achieve this. With few academic institutions offering specific logistics education at that time, they created the CITT and the Program of Study that leads to the CITT designation.

Today, an organization understands that in order to compete domestically and globally, it must utilize a clearly defined, highly structured and flawlessly executed supply chain and logistics process. To achieve this, it needs to be designed, implemented and managed by a supply chain logistics professional.

The CITT will enhance your professional credibility. The industry recognizes a CITT-certified professional has a unique skill set, a working knowledge of their business and a practical understanding of the inner workings of today's complex supply chain and logistics business.
