Doug Harrison is President of Calyx Transportation Group Inc. Calyx owns six of Canada’s leading transportation and logistics companies – National Fast Freight, Indis, Euroworld, Muir’s Cartage, Nesel Fast Freight and Hyphen.
Prior to joining Calyx in September of 2008, Mr. Harrison was CEO of Brookfield LePage Johnson Controls (BLJC), a provider of Facilities Maintenance services. He was also President of Acklands – Grainger, Canada’s leading Industrial and safety supply company. Previously, he was Vice President and Managing Director for Ryder Integrated Logistics, where he oversaw Ryder’s Business Units in Canada and Europe.
Mr. Harrison has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 leaders, and was honoured by the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation with its Award of Excellence. He is also the recipient of the National Transportation Award of Achievement.
Mr. Harrison has presented at numerous universities and colleges, and he is a regular guest at Queen’s University where he lectures on Strategy, Change Management and Leadership.
Mr. Harrison holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University (Scotland). He is a Graduate of the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT), and holds a number of other transportation and logistics designations. Doug has been awarded the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, and is a graduate of the CMA’s certification program.
Mr. Harrison is currently a board member of Stephenson’s Rental Services and sits on its audit committee. He is also a member of the Conference Board of Canada’s board of directors. In October 2008, Mr. Harrison stepped down from his role as Chair of the Board of Directors of Livingston International where he was also a member of the audit committee and chaired both the Governance and Special Board Committees. He previously served as a member of the IPO Board for Cardinal Logistics, a US based services provider.
