Dr. Garland Chow
Dr. Garland Chow is Associate Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Director of the Bureau of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Freight Security at the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia
Dr. Chow writes and teaches in the fields of supply chain, business logistics and freight transport management, is a frequent speaker before professional associations and executive programs and provided consulting advice to both government and the private sector. He is an active participant in the Canadian Association of Supply Chain & Logistics Management and was the recipient of the associations’ Mentorship Award in 2003 and Service Award in 2008.
The author of over 200 articles and reports in the transportation, logistics and supply chain field, he is an internationally known authority on motor carrier transportation and recently completing a study on truck drivers and the effectiveness of Federal (Canadian) labour standards on drivers and their productivity.
Dr. Chow's logistics research interests include transportation collaboration, modelling the outsourcing decision for TPLs and logistics strategy for multinationals entering China. He co-authored “The Transportation and Warehousing Challenge for Multi-National Corporations in
