John O’Reilly, CCS, CITT, has been a specialist in the international trade, customs and supply chain industry for over 25 years.

In his current role as the Director of Customs and Traffic for Toshiba of Canada Limited, he is responsible for all international transportation, import/export, and in-house customs clearance. Mr. O’Reilly is also the Executive Quality Leader for the 6 Sigma Management Innovation program, representing the Canadian subsidiary for this global initiative. He is also responsible for the management and administration of the Export Control program.

Mr. O’Reilly’s involvement in the supply chain begins at the origin manufacturing plants where he meets with new suppliers, implements the carrier network and sets up the distribution processes with production and logistics to ensure compliance with company and CBSA security guidelines. Mr. O’Reilly and his group oversee the importing of product right through the in-house customs clearance program to delivery at one of 3 distribution centers and retail customers across Canada. He was also an integral part of Toshiba’s BTO program which introduced product directly into the retail market.

Mr. O’Reilly leads a group of 174 members of Toshiba of Canada’s Management Innovation program which drives process improvement and generates cost savings directly impacting the bottom line. A graduate and Champion of the 6 Sigma Black Belt program, John is also CCS and CITT certified.

He has been a member of the Board of Directors for I.E. Canada since 2005, and was appointed Chair of the Board in June 2009.
