Building Stronger Core Competencies

It’s no secret that many companies are struggling when it comes to balancing the cost and service demands inherent to today’s business environment. Supply chain management has been identified as an important resource in overcoming many of these challenges.

Now that supply chain no longer operates in a silo, taking their place in the corporate hierarchy and working in cooperation with other departments will become a regular occurrence. Therefore, the competencies of the supply chain professional must similarly continue to evolve.  

Procurement is an area of business that is heavily reliant on supply chain. The supply chain manager of the future will be expected to know much more about procurement as the lines between the two start to become less rigid.
