Risk Management: Disaster Avoidance Planning

Risk Management - (Business Continuity Management): How resilient is your supply chain?

Over the past few years, the topic on business resilience and continuity has been getting more and more attention, especially because of the many recent natural and geopolitical events such as the political unrest in Egypt, the earthquake and subsequent tsunami in Japan to name a few.  The evolution of business needs and service capabilities has extended the requirement of continuity and recovery to a proactive plan for business availability and protection at the industry level.  Organizational supply chains today span geographic borders, meaning that seemingly unrelated events across the globe can affect your organization's ability to deliver.  Organizations need to prioritize their supplier sources and identify potential single points of failure in order to put together a risk mitigation strategy. By creating a single view of risk exposure globally, organizations can then build what-if scenarios for possible disruptions.

Here is the question that you need to ask yourself - "Your organization is vulnerable to threats wherever it has operations. How are you securing your supply chain?"  The presentation will share the trend of developing a robust resilience program that can help organizations to mitigate risk.

This senior panel will be moderated by Lou Smyrlis, Editorial Director, Business Information Group's Transportation Group of Properties.
