How SAQ harnessed efficiencies through inventory turnovers

In this presentation, Stéphane Groleau, Procurement and Transportation Director at the SAQ (Quebec Liquor Board), will explain how an integrated supply chain allowed the SAQ to improve its inventory turnover by 20 per cent over the last two years without any disruption to its customer satisfaction rate.

To get to these impressive results, SAQ streamlined a few obstacles:

  • improving its transportation system to be able to track more then 16,000 Purchase Orders from more than 55 countries with several freight forwarders
  • implementing new procurement systems to improve forecasting, Economic Order Quantity and transportation optimization
  • reviewing the operational structure in merging both Transportation and Procurement departments in one entity
  • reviewing job performance evaluation by implementing the Key Performance Indicators process.

Delegates will learn how operational, structural and managerial changes translated into capacity to absorb sales’ volume increases while improving inventory turnover rate and reducing global stock without any disruption in customer satisfaction rate.

Speaker:
Stéphane Groleau, Directeur du transport international et Directeur Approvisionnement et transport with Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ).
