The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Canadian Border Service Agency (CBSA) have similar and yet different requirements and processes that are going through enhancements. Understanding their features - and differences - is vital to any business moving goods across the border. Incorrect documentation can result in costly delays and fines, and ignorance of the requirements is not a defence. This webinar will discuss the current and future state of cross-border documentation requirements, equipping attendees with the knowledge to submit documentation correctly and completely.

The presenters will detail the documents required for a standard clearance into both Canada and the United States and provide an overview of the actual clearance process for crossing the border in either direction.  Proper document preparation, submission procedure and recordkeeping obligations will be included in the discussion. These topics will be reviewed within the context of current border initiatives for both CBSA and CBP.

Attendees will take away a fundamental understanding of documentary requirements for import / export into Canada or the United States providing for a more efficient clearance process and an enhanced level of customs compliance.

This webinar will be invaluable to anyone looking for a refresher on cross-border processes or is planning to move into a role inolving cross-border activity. Those newer to the industry - regardless of their role, will also find this a useful session.
