But between labour issues, alternative fuels and digitization - to name a few - many feel that we're on the cusp of huge changes for the business.

As CEO of Trucking HR Canada, Angela Splinter is the steward of talent management best practices for the trucking and logistics sector. Under Angela’s leadership, Trucking HR Canada has become a national centre of excellence where stakeholders in commercial transportation, public policy, training and economic analysis work together to help trucking and logistics employers meet the growing demands of Canada’s freight economy. Angela’s tenure has spearheaded the development of the distinguished Women with Drive and Top Fleet Employers programs which recognize HR leaders and transportation companies for excellence in human resources and provide models for others to follow. These and other programs promote an environment where professionals share strategies, policies and practices that drive career-of-choice recognition and the industry’s success.

Angela is regularly called upon to brief senior officials, economic think tanks and industry leaders on the in-depth research and industry insights impacting the industry’s growth and success. She also serves as a speaker and moderator at industry events in Canada and internationally, providing expertise on topics that affect supply chains across a range of industries.

Maryse Doucet started her career as a Process Analyst as part of the Maintenance team at Midland Transport in 2004. There, she was instrumental in several major process improvement projects, and was promoted numerous times, culminating with promotion to Director of Planning in 2017. That same year, she received the inaugural Rising Star award at the Atlantic Gala for Women in Transportation. In 2021, Maryse joined Armour Transportation Systems as VP of Business Development, supporting the Sales team and driving the company’s growth strategy, and earlier this year was promoted to the role of VP of LTL and Terminal Operations, overseeing the Armour’s terminal network which includes all cross-dock operations and P&D activities.

Maryse holds a degree in Industrial Engineering, a Master of Business Administration that she completed while working full-time, and she is also a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. She was actively involved with the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of New Brunswick for over 15 years and has been a Provincial Councillor for a total of ten years.

Benoit joined Desjardins Securities in September 2002 and has been responsible for coverage of the Industrial, Aerospace and Transportation sectors since June 2005. Prior to joining Desjardins, he had four years of experience in the investment industry, having spent time as an associate at both Laurentian Bank Securities and Yorkton Securities. Benoit is a top-ranked analyst and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree as well as an MBA degree from HEC Montréal. He has been a CFA charter member since 2005.

Shelley Walker is the CEO of Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada, a non-profit organization, with the mission to bridge barriers, empower women and provide a positive platform for education, mentorship, networking and development within the trucking/transportation industry. She has over 30 years experience in trucking/transportation industry. Shelley has a history of supporting the transportation/trucking industry as a reputable and respected leader, spokesperson, and professional driver. Shelley is well-versed in the undertaking of several charitable initiatives, community campaigns and public outreach.

Shelley's many skills include management, keynote speaking, leadership, safety & training. Shelley has a strong interest in philanthropy, promoting women within the industry and empowering teams and individuals. In 2019 Shelley was awarded the Courage Award from the Nova Scotia Trucking Safety Association (NSTSA). In 2020 Shelley was inducted into the PMTC Hall of Fame for Professional Drivers, and was awarded the 2020 Woman of Inspiration™ Awards Rural Leader.
