The Rev. Judith Alltree was the Executive Director of Mission to Seafarers Southern Ontario from 2013 until 2021, and is the recently retired regional director of the Mission to Seafarers Canada (2019-2025). She is the current vice-chair of the Mission to Seafarers Southern Ontario and the Port Chaplain for the various departments that make up the Port of Toronto. Across 13 active and growing Canadian ports, The Mission to Seafarers Canada offers tailored support to thousands of crew members who arrive daily on our shores. Whether they need a listening ear, access to Wi-Fi, pastoral care, transportation, or emergency help, their teams are ready to respond.
Vicki Gruber began her journey at the Porty as a Harbour Masters Office/Port Patrol Officer in 2006. She eventually assuming the role of Harbour Master in 2014. As Harbour Master, she manages a constant flow of vessel traffic, particularly during peak seasons such as spring for fertilizer shipments and fall for grain exports, and other diverse operations within the Port.
During the Fireside Chat, Rev. Judith and Vicki will talk about how they become connected with the Maritime industry and how that connection has grown and changed in their lives. This is a chance to hear the story of how these two incredible woman came to be significant pillars in our industry.
WISTA Central will be also accepting donations for The Mission to Seafarers Canada at the event should you be inclined to donate. Monetary donations are accepts as well as clean, used or new, but usable, warm, small to large men’s clothing (sweaters, jackets, T-shirts, mitts and toques).
