New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is the first academic institution in Atlantic Canada to offer the Canadian Transportation & Distribution Logistics (CTDL) microcredential to its learners.
CITT is excited to announce that New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is the first academic institution in Atlantic Canada to offer the Canadian Transportation & Distribution Logistics (CTDL) microcredential to its learners. Graduates of the NBCC Supply Chain Management and Logistics program, which has been accredited by CITT, will receive this credential in recognition that they have developed the competencies taught to in our microcredential program. This credential offers instant recognition and provides NBCC graduates with a strong foundation to build their careers and pursue further certification.
The CTDL microcredential, publicly launched to industry in December 2024, has been designed to quickly bring individuals up-to-speed in the foundational competencies required to succeed – and help businesses succeed – in the complex world of logistics today. Graduates of NBCC’s Supply Chain Management and Logistics program will also earn 7 of the 10 academic credits required to earn the elite CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP®) designation. The gold standard in Canadian logistics credentials, CCLP provides unmatched credibility, certifying the industry-vetted competencies required of a logistics expert.
“We’re thrilled with this new partnership with NBCC,” says Pina Melchionna, President & CEO of CITT. “The pursuit of excellence in logistics has never been stronger in Atlantic Canada. We’ve been seeing it on the industry side with employers, and now we’re seeing it through NBCC’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of talent.”
To further support the demand for skilled professionals in this sector, NBCC is expanding its Supply Chain Management and Logistics program to the Saint John campus, welcoming their first cohort in September 2025. Previously offered only at NBCC’s Moncton campus, this expansion increases accessibility for students and supports the development of a workforce ready to meet industry needs.
“We are excited to partner with CITT to offer the Canadian Transportation & Distribution Logistics microcredential to our learners,” says Ann Drennan, Vice President, Academic, Innovation and Student Affairs at NBCC. “This collaboration, along with offering our Supply Chain Management and Logistics program at both our Moncton and Saint John campuses, will create more learning pathways for students while addressing industry workforce needs.”
